| Buffalo Wings & Rings Onboard With Patrick
Sheltra For Talladega
“MTV’s Real World Scott Herman Also Joins
The Team For Talladega Thunder!”
TALLADEGA, Alabama (April 22, 2009) - - Officials from
Sheltra Motorsports announced today that Buffalo Wings &
Rings has joined the team as the primary marketing partner
for Friday’s ARCA RE/MAX 250 at Talladega Superspeedway.
Talladega marks the third straight event where Buffalo
Wings & Rings has been aligned with the Whitesville,
Kentucky based Sheltra Motorsports team. Friday’s
event however signifies the first ARCA RE/MAX Series event
where the growing restaurant chain has tackled the Motorsports
environment as a primary marketing partner.
Sheltra invades Talladega on the heels of a solid second
place finish last Sunday at Rockingham Speedway which catapulted
Sheltra to the number one points spot in the ARCA RE/MAX
Series tied with Parker Klingerman at 620 points a piece.
Known for it’s “Great Food; No Bull!”
campaign, Buffalo Wings & Rings is the fastest-growing
privately owned franchised chain of restaurants in the nation
serving Buffalo-style chicken wings, onion rings, burgers,
chicken and salads. Founded in 1988 in Cincinnati, Ohio,
Buffalo Wings & Rings operates 44 franchised restaurants
in the United States. Buffalo Wings & Rings was ranked
the No. 1 fastest growing restaurant chain nationwide in
the July 2008 issue of Restaurant Business, and ranked in
the top 500 franchises in the January 2009 issue of Entrepreneur.
“I’m stoked about having Buffalo Wings &
Rings onboard for Talladega,” said driver Patrick
Sheltra, who will make his third career ARCA RE/MAX Series
start at Talladega on Friday afternoon. “We’ve
enjoyed monstrous success with them since we started this
relationship at Salem and we look forward to bringing them
back to victory lane.”
Buffalo Wings & Rings is equally excited about the
opportunity to unite with a talented driver like Sheltra
while hoping the race will bring further awareness to its
establishments.
“All of us at Buffalo Wings & Rings are very
excited about the opportunity to work with Patrick Sheltra’s
winning team at Talladega this weekend,” stated Charlie
Francus, Marketing Manager for Buffalo Wings & Rings.
“This is a new experience for us and our franchisees
but we’re excited and looking forward to the race
and the future with Sheltra Motorsports.”
The third year ARCA team participated in a two-day test
session at Talladega Superspeedway on April 8 and 9 with
the No. 60 Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge Charger setting
fast time on Wednesday afternoon. Leaning on the same piece
that Sheltra utilized in his Talladega Superspeedway debut
in 2007, the 22-year old driver is hoping to better his
fifth place run at the 2.66-mile superspeedway last October.
“We have a good car for this weekend,” explained
Sheltra. “We tested it at Daytona and a couple weeks
ago at Talladega and I was very pleased with its performance.
I think we have a top-10 qualifying car and its stout enough
to give us our second win of the season.”
In addition to hosting Buffalo Wings & Rings as its
primary marketing partner for the fourth race of the season,
Sheltra Motorsports is also excited to have Scott Herman
of this past season’s MTV’s Real World: Brooklyn
as a guest at Talladega Superspeedway.
Herman is a native of Salem, New Hampshire and is a personal
trainer, model and actor. He recently received the designation
of having the “best abs on the East Coast”,
and was featured in Men’s Health magazine.
“A lot of great things are happening to this team
right now and having Scott here for the race on Friday is
overwhelming,” sounded Sheltra. “We are hoping
to show him a good time in our “Real World”
and look forward to making him a race fan for life.”
Entering Talladega, Sheltra has 49 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts
to his credit with one career victory at Salem Speedway
(April 2009). Sheltra also holds second place efforts at
Rockingham Speedway (April 2009), Toledo Speedway (May 2008)
and the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds (September 2008) with
four additional top-five finishes, (fourth) at Toledo Speedway
(October 2008), (fifth) at Talladega Superspeedway (October
2008), (third) at Illinois State Fairgrounds (August 2007)
and (fourth) at Berlin Raceway (July 2007) while holding
additional top-10s at Nashville Superspeedway (August 2008),
Michigan International Speedway (June 2008), Kentucky Speedway
(May 2008), Kansas Speedway (April 2008), Iowa Speedway
(April 2008), Kentucky Speedway (June 2007), DuQuoin State
