Race Information: Event: Pocono ARCA 200,

Qualifying: Friday, June 5, at 1:45 p.m. Local Time; Track
Length: 2.5-mile paved-triangle.
Toledo Recap: After finishing second and
fourth respectively the year previous at Toledo Speedway,
Sheltra Motorsports and driver Patrick Sheltra had high
hopes for the sixth race of the season. While practice started
out rough, the team improved and had a good handling car
underneath Sheltra for the race until contact from Paul
Menard slammed Sheltra into the outside wall inside the
race’s first 50 laps. The team repaired the car with
Sheltra returning to the track and finishing 29th.
Returning To Long Pond: The Indiantown,
Florida native will make his sixth start at the popular
triangle race course and aim for his first top-10 finish.
In his previous five efforts, Sheltra has acquired two top-15
finishes with a best effort of 11th in August 2007. Qualifying
though has not been a downfall for the popular driver as
Sheltra has nailed four top-15 qualifying runs including
a track best of ninth in the summer race of 2007.
Busy Week Ahead: Following the completion
of the Pocono ARCA 200, Sheltra will board a plane and head
west to Las Vegas, Nevada where he’ll make an appearance
for marketing partner Buffalo Wings & Rings at their
annual franchisee meeting. From “Sin City”,
Sheltra will commute on Wednesday and head to Michigan in
preparation for next Friday’s Racing for Wildlife
200 at Michigan International Speedway.
Watcha Haulin?: Crew Chief John Hayden
has elected to bring Sheltra chassis number 11 to Pocono
Raceway this weekend. The primary machine will be the same
Dodge that Sheltra competed with at Pocono Raceway last
year. The former Penske Racing automobile will be run for
just the third time in Sheltra’s ARCA career. Chassis
number 16 will serve as the team’s back-up automobile.
That former Richard Childress Racing entry is a new addition
to the team’s fleet. The Whitesville, Kentucky based
team tested this Dodge Charger at Michigan International
Speedway last Wednesday.
Points Check: After round six on the 2009
ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Patrick Sheltra sits sixth
in the championship standings accumulating 1220 points.
A mere 10 points keeps Sheltra from the fifth position.
Sheltra is 295 markers from the top-spot. Car owner Grace
Sheltra sits eighth in the car owner standings.
Keeping The Streak Alive: For 29 consecutive
races, Sheltra Motorsports has fielded a car for Patrick
Sheltra that run in the top-10 (at one point or another)
for all events reverting back to the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX 250
at Talladega Superspeedway. The team added their 29th race
at Toledo Speedway despite being knocked out of the event
early. During this period, the team has amassed one win,
six top-fives and 12 top-10 finishes. The team’s best
qualifying effort occurred at Rockingham Speedway in April
where Sheltra awarded himself with a career best run of
third. The team has led five races at Rockingham Speedway
(2009), Salem Speedway (2009) Kansas Speedway (2008), Cayuga
Motor Speedway (2008), and Talladega Superspeedway (2008),
for a total of 109 laps.

Sheltra Motorsports, Pocono
Raceway Pre-Race Quotes: Patrick Sheltra, driver of the
No. 60 Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge Charger:
On Toledo Speedway: “I had high
hopes for Toledo. We had a decent car in practice but the
guys had it pretty good for the race. We were being patience
but racing hard and got knocked out. It was real disappointing
especially with our track record there. We’ll go back
in September and try again.”
On Pocono Raceway: “It’s a
neat place. I’ve always had good cars there but for
one reason or another we haven’t been able to seal
the deal. I think without a doubt we will this weekend.”
On The Announcement Of The Cancellation Of The
Cayuga ARCA Race: “I have mixed feelings
about it really. It’s a big expense on the ARCA RE/MAX
Series teams but the track was a lot of fun. We were looking
forward to going back there because we had a good car and
led the race last year but there’s been some pressure
relieved by the expense of the race. Hopefully ARCA can
go back to Cayuga eventually because it was a good race
for the Canadians.”
On His Upcoming Las Vegas Trip: “I’m
looking forward to going to Las Vegas with the folks from
Buffalo Wings & Rings. This is a big event for them
and I know a lot of the corporate officials are excited
to be apart of Sheltra Motorsports and it’s my goal
to go out there and get everyone else pumped up about our
partnership.”
On The Point Standings: “We took
a hit but we are not sunk. We have some ground to make up
but we’re going to try and make the climb. It’s
still real early in the season and I’m not worrying
about points as much. I’m going out there every week
and try and win races. If we do that the points will tally
for themselves.”
Sheltra Motorsports, Pocono
Raceway Pre-Race Quotes: Grace Sheltra, owner of the No.
60 Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge Charger:
On Toledo: “It was disappointing
to say the least. We thought we had a good enough racecar
where we could visit victory lane for the second time this
year but it just didn’t workout.”
On Pocono: “Patrick really enjoys
competing at Pocono Raceway; we just need some luck there.
We had good cars last year, we just don’t have the
finishes to show for it. We’re going there this weekend
on a mission and I think we’re going to be alright.”
On The Announcement Of The
Cancellation Of The Cayuga ARCA Race: “It’s
a shame for everyone involved. From the track to the teams
and even the series but I’ve heard from many that
it’s a relief and it will be. However, as a team it
does save us some money and that’s not a bad thing
right now.”
