| Spending The Fourth: Sheltra Motorsports
“ARCA Team Members Ready To Enjoy Holiday
Weekend”
WHITESVILLE, Kentucky (July 3, 2008) - - After recently
completing the 10th installment of the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX
Series (ARS) season at Cayuga Motor Speedway, Sheltra Motorsports
will enjoy a much needed three-day weekend in observance
of our nation’s Independence. While members of the
Whitesville, Kentucky based Sheltra Motorsports team will
celebrate the Holiday in their own statue, many do have
some exciting plans in one of the final off-weekends of
the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series calendar.
Here what’s on tap for the Sheltra Motorsports team
who currently sits ninth in the championship standings heading
into the next ARCA RE/MAX Series event, The Kentucky ARCA
150 set for Friday, July 18, 2008.
Getty Cavitt (Jack Man): “I don’t
have any big plans just yet. I know I plan to spend some
time around the pool and hang out with friends. That’s
pretty much it.”
John Hayden (Crew Chief): “On Friday,
I’m going to run the Firecracker 200 street stock
race at Salem Speedway in the No. 55. Hopefully, the race
on Friday night will be a good reason to celebrate the rest
of the weekend. On Saturday, we’re having a barbecue
at my house with family and friends and we’ll do some
fireworks. Sunday, I just plan to relax.”
John Henderson (Truck Driver): “I
really don’t have a clue right now. I may have to
work a little on Friday but I plan to spend my weekend enjoying
the life at home.”
Kevin Huffines (Spotter): “Hanging
out. I plan to go racing with my son, Devin on Saturday
night in Nashville at Music City Raceway. On Sunday, we’ll
spend some time with my family and my wife’s family
and then get back after it on Monday.”
Chris Knight (Communications): “I’m
heading to Florida for some rest and relaxation in Cape
Coral, Florida. I have some business ventures down there
and I’m going to hang out with former ARCA RE/MAX
Series driver Johnny Leonard and his family. I’m looking
forward to the trip.”
William Mares (Fabricator & Tire Carrier):
“The wife has the Youth Group kids from our local
church on Friday then we’ll spend the rest of the
weekend doing family things and relaxing before the rest
of the season shifts into high gear.”
Mike Royal (Mechanic & Catch-Can): “I’m
just hanging out around the house with family and friends.
Nothing too exciting but it will be nice to have some time
off.”
Shane Russelburg (Fabricator & Tire Changer):
“I’m heading out to Rough River Lake
all weekend. We have a cabin up there and I’ll spend
the time with family and friends jumping off cliffs and
doing some wakeboarding. The weekend doesn’t get much
better than that.”
Grace Sheltra (Car Owner): “I’m
going to spend Friday working at my business, All About
Flowers in Indiantown, Florida. During the weekend, I’ll
be spending some time with close family and friends and
preparing for my trip to Texas next week with Patrick (Sheltra)
and Rick (Sheltra, Husband).
Patrick Sheltra (Driver): “We headed
off to Texas on Thursday for a couple of weeks. We recently
acquired some property and a house down there in the city
of Dryden, Texas. The population there is 11. Our phones
don’t work there so we have to use satellite phones,
but the satellite works on the television, so we may watch
some of the NASCAR races from Daytona. I think we’ll
do some celebrating of our own on Friday or Saturday night
with some fireworks or something like that.”
Keith Strunk (Team Manager): “We’re
not 100 percent sure on our plans just yet. More than likely,
we’ll go Motocross racing with my son Alex. I’m
sure there will be some relaxing at home with the family
too, which will be nice.”
Eric Wettstain (Mechanic & Tire Changer):
“I’m going camping on the Ohio River with my
father-in-law. I’ve been on the Ohio River twice this
year but this is the first weekend we’ll actually
be doing some camping up there. We’re also planning
on doing some boating, waterskiing and tubing.”
Chris Wink (Mechanic & Tires): “On
Friday, we’ll have our annual Fourth of July family
barbecue before I head down to Rough River for the rest
of the weekend for some fun and relaxation while also attending
the Burly Cruz concert Saturday night. I have some friends
that are a part of Burly Cruz, so it’s going to be
a fun time.”
Before the team members head their separate way for the
weekend, Mike Royal, Shane Russelburg and Eric Wettstain
will all play golf on Friday morning at Panther Creek Golf
Course in Owensboro, Kentucky.
