| Patrick Sheltra Amped For Berlin; Boatwerks
Waterfront Returns With Team
“NASCAR Veteran Ted Musgrave Joins Team As Driver
Coach”
MARNE, Michigan (July 23, 2009) - - On the heels of his
fifth top-10 finish of the season last Saturday night at
Kentucky Speedway, Patrick Sheltra heads to Berlin (Mi.)
Raceway amped up with a new attitude and a familiar marketing
partner back on board for the Wolverine Power Systems 200
presented by Generac.
Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant will return as a marketing
partner covering the quarter panels on the No. 60 Chevrolet
Monte Carlo SS in Sheltra’s third career start at
the .4-mile short track. Buffalo Wings & Rings, the
team’s primary marketing partner will remain on the
hood and television panel for their first tango with the
legendary short track.
Sitting on the shores of Lake Macatawa and being downtown
Holland’s only waterfront restaurant, Boatwerks Waterfront
Restaurant offers family friendly casual dining, waterfront
views, indoor and outdoor dining, banquet facilities, catering
services and a convenient full menu takeout.
Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant’s mission has always
been about creating an atmosphere that reminds their patrons
of simpler times, vacations on the lake and carefree summer
days. Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant and their chefs buy
the best ingredients, use time tested methods and expert
craftsmanship, avoid shortcuts, trends and fads in preparing
your meals. The focus is placed on preparing phenomenal
food, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere inside and
out.
“We’re heading to Berlin with some steam,”
said Sheltra. “We had a solid run last weekend at
Kentucky and now we have Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant
back on-board for their second year in a row at Berlin,
so I’m pretty ecstatic.”
While Sheltra is a fan of the unique Berlin Raceway, the
Whitesville, Kentucky team is looking for a rebound at the
track this weekend. After notching his first career ARCA
RE/MAX Series top-five finish at Berlin 2007, Sheltra qualified
in the top-10 last year before succumbing to overheating
issues 50 laps into last year’s event.
This year, Sheltra returns to Berlin looking to make up
for last year and take his team back to victory lane for
the second time this season.
“We had a rare parts failure last year which took
us out of the hunt,” recalled Sheltra. “We haven’t
had that same problem since but I feel I still have some
unfinished business there. Hopefully, we can take care of
it this weekend.”
With his fourth top-10 at Kentucky Speedway in six races,
Sheltra maintains eighth in the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship
standings but inches closer to returning to the top-five.
Sheltra sees Berlin Raceway as an event where points can
be gained but easily lost too.
“Using your head is a big priority this weekend,”
said Sheltra. “It’s a tight place. Pit road
is extremely tight. You can beat and bang around a little
but if you don’t have the car in good shape and if
you’re not handling well, you won’t be finishing
in the top-10. We need to build on last weekend’s
finish and keep the momentum on our side.”
Crew Chief John Hayden has elected to use Sheltra Motorsports
Chassis No. 4 this weekend at Berlin Raceway. This is the
same piece the team raced to a fourth place finish at Berlin
2007. The former Robert Yates Racing (RYR) piece has three
top-10 finishes with two straight top-10 finishes on the
dirt two years ago. The Ford Fusion turned Chevrolet Monte
Carlo SS has finished inside the top-20 in all but one of
its seven previous events. Chassis number 5 will serve as
the team’s back-up automobile. That former Joe Gibbs
Racing entry is the same automobile that Sheltra rocketed
to his first victory at Salem Speedway in April.
For just the second time this season, the team will utilize
a Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS as it’s primary manufacturer
of choice.
In other team news, Sheltra Motorsports announced this
week that NASCAR veteran Ted Musgrave will join the veteran
ARCA team at Berlin Raceway acting as a driver coach for
the dirt late model ace. Musgrave, a native of Franklin,
Wisconsin has over 18 years of experience combined between
the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR Nationwide
Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Before Sheltra turns his concentration over to the 12th
event on the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Sheltra will
sign autographs at Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant on Friday,
July 24th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant
is located at 216 VanRaalte Avenue in Holland, Michigan.
For additional information, please call 616.396.0600.
Entering Berlin, Sheltra has 57 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts
to his credit with one career victory at Salem Speedway
(April 2009). During his ARCA tenure, Sheltra has accumulated
nine top-fives and posted 19 top-10 finishes. A third place
qualifying effort at Rockingham Speedway (April 2009) is
Sheltra’s best time trials efforts to date. He has
controlled the ARCA field five times for 109 laps.
The Wolverine Power Systems 200 presented by Generac (200
laps / 88 miles) is the 12th of 21 events on the 2009 ARCA
RE/MAX Series schedule. The Marne, Michigan event is a one-day
show. Practice begins Saturday, July 25 with an hour and
half practice session planned from 2:30 p.m. – 4:00
p.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is slated to begin
at 5:00 p.m. The event will take the green flag that evening
shortly after 8:30 p.m. The event will not be televised
but broadcast coverage will be available live through the
ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com. All
