| Patrick Sheltra Comments On Addition Of Palm
Beach International Raceway To ARCA’s 2010 Schedule
INDIANTOWN, Florida (November 12, 2009) - - The ARCA Racing
Series presented by RE/MAX announced today that the venue
will make a stop in Jupiter, Florida next February at Palm
Beach International Raceway (PBIR) for the series’
expected second event of the season on Saturday, February
27, 2010.
Boasting an 11-turn, 2.034-mile design and FIA Grade II
certified, PBIR's state-of-the-art road course features
some of the fastest and most challenging corners, elevation
changes and straightaways offered by any track in North
America and is currently approved as an IndyCar testing
facility. Technologically superior, the road course showcases
a seamless table-top smooth finish, full lighting, S.A.V.E.
soft barriers and run-off areas.
Veteran ARCA driver and Florida native Patrick Sheltra
commented on today’s announcement.
“I’m really excited about seeing the ARCA Racing
Series presented by RE/MAX compete at Palm Beach International
Raceway in 2010,” said Sheltra. “The track is
located 15 minutes from my home in Indiantown (Florida),
so it’s going to be an extra special event to me next
year.”
He continued, “The ARCA Racing Series has continued
to diversify themselves by returning road courses to the
schedule in 2008 and adding a second road course event to
the 2010 calendar only gives the series more strength. I’m
going to do everything in my power to help promote the race
for ARCA and the staff at Palm Beach International Raceway.
I’m expecting one heck of a race!”
PBIR joins New Jersey Motorsports Park (Millville, New
Jersey) as the second road-course event next year. Sheltra
knocked off an impressive seventh place finish after qualifying
eighth at the 2.3-mile NJMP Thunderbolt Course in September.
The 23-year old Sheltra has 67 ARCA Racing Series presented
by RE/MAX starts to his credit with one career victory at
Salem Speedway (April 2009). During his ARCA tenure, Sheltra
has accumulated 10 top-fives and posted 22 top-10 finishes.
A third place qualifying effort at Rockingham Speedway (April
2009) is Sheltra’s best time trials efforts to date.
He has controlled the ARCA field five times for 109 laps.
